So You're Ready to Pivot

Recently I've given coaching to a few people who want to re-brand.
During each conversation, I recommended the same set of tools because their guidance works across industries and cultures.
So if you're ready to jump, here's a list of resources to get you started:
1. Refresh Your Communication Skills with Jodi Glickman
First things first, watch Glickman's training video on Lynda, called Jodi Glickman on Pitching Yourself. It's less than 20 minutes long and will teach you how to quickly describe where you've been - and more importantly - where you're going.
After that, read her book, Great on the Job. It has scripts for key career moments, like making cold calls. So when it comes time to reach out to the people that you want to connect with, you'll be well-prepared.

2. Build Your Confidence with The Charisma Myth
If networking's intimidating for you, read The Charisma Myth. It's a fantastic book that has science-based guidance on how to make meaningful connections with other people.
But really, even if you're comfortable with putting yourself out there, reading The Charisma Myth is still a good idea because it'll give your networking skills an immediate boost.

3. Stay Grounded with Pivot
Once you've tuned your soft skills, read Jenny Blake's book, Pivot.
It has guidance for every stage of re-branding, including how to get started and bring your goals to life.
